Welcome !

I adopted the Symbol of the Oak Tree to represent what Healing Touch Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine is about when I established my clinic in 1998. The Oak Tree represents to me: Strength, Great Beauty, Deep Roots, Being Grounded, Able To Weather Storms.

Through our clinic we help each person find, or regain, their own personal strength, great beauty, deep roots, groundedness and ability to weather their own storms.

Focus on the Whole Person & on Integrative Medicine
At Healing Touch Acupuncture, we treat the whole person.  First, we conduct an in-depth interview with every patient, and we specialize in listening to you.  For example, when someone comes in for shoulder pain we not only ask in-depth questions about the pain, when it started, what makes it better, etc. but we will also ask about your stress levels, digestion, sleep, energy,  medications, past medical history, other pain, etc.  Then together, we develop a plan to address your “main complaint” and other concerns.

We have found that our treatments are the most effective when we use Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine (as appropriate), & discuss Lifestyle Changes [link:life_styles] & Enrichment to help our patients accomplish their goals for treatment.  When appropriate, we also work as part of a team with medical doctors and other health care practitioners and/or we refer to other health care professionals as needed so that you can have the best possible results (since none of us has all the answers).

Who are We?
I am Dr. Judy Chiasson, and I am “Dr. Judy” because I have my doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, with advanced training in the treatment of pain in the U.S. & China.   I established Healing Touch Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in 1998 after I received my Master’s Degree from the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine and became a licensed acupuncturist.  After 5 years of working with patients I applied and was accepted to the Doctoral Program at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.  There, I specialized in the Treatment of Pain of all types and had the privilege to study & treat patients both in the U.S., and Nan Jing China where I worked in 5 hospital acupuncture out-patient clinics.

My associates Rand Dennis and Tim Baglio, joined Healing Touch Acupuncture in 2006 & 2009 respectively, and brought additional skills and training.  Both have their Master’s degrees from the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine.  Rand Dennis brought to this clinic the specialties of Women’s Health, Men’s Health and the treatment of children in addition to treatment of pain of all types.  Tim Baglio studied and practiced in Seattle and Korea before joining this clinic.  Tim also has a strong background in Martial Arts and brings his keen interest in Qi Gong and Tai Chi.  Both Rand Dennis and Tim Baglio have brought tremendous additional skills and richness for our patients at Healing Touch Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine.  Both practitioners also work in our community clinic (described below under payment options). All three of us specialize in the treatment of pain of all types.
